Pet Prescriptions

PLEASE NOTE

The policy of this practice is to re-examine any animal requiring repeat prescriptions every 6 months minimum, but this may vary with individual circumstances and product types. There will be a charge for this re-examination.

Clients are requested to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for prescription requests, more notice will be required over weekends and bank holidays

Any fraudulent prescription claims will be reported to the Veterinary Medicines Directive and our services will be withdrawn.

Written prescriptions

Written prescriptions are also available from this practice.

You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines (POM-V) from your veterinary surgeon or obtain these from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. Unfortunately we cannot price match online pharmacies but we acknowledge that it may be far more cost effective for you to purchase your pets medication online, please ask the vet or receptionist if you would like to discuss a written prescription.

The current charge for a written prescription is £19.00, with £14.50 per additional item.*

Please be aware that your veterinary surgeon may only provide POM-V medicines for animals under their care and that a prescription may not be appropriate if an animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.

You will be informed on request of the price of any medicine that may be dispensed for your animal.
